ITHS STUDENTS RETURN WITH MEDALS FROM THE USA
Once again, the students of ITHS have demonstrated their talent in one of the most prominent International Project Olympiads in the USA.
Participation in International Project Olympiads has become a tradition of the International Turkish Hope School. Every year the students return home with remarkable success and commendable results from overseas.
The GENIUS Olympiad with the motto “Lets build a better future together” is an international high school project competition about environmental issues. The event hosted around 850 students and supervisors this year, which is a 28% increase compared to last year. 495 projects were short listed for the finals out of 1,259 applicant projects. The students from 40 US states made it to finals and the international students from 65 countries were selected to attend the event. Recently, seven of our Senior Section students represented Bangladesh in the GENIUS Environmental Project Olympiad 2016, organized by the State University of New York at Oswego between 13 and 16 June 2016.
The students garnered 1 GOLD MEDAL, 1 SILVER MEDAL, 1 BRONZE MEDAL and 1 HONOROBLE MENTION at this prestigious event.
Participant students also explored different parts of the United States. During the Olympiad days, all the participants were taken to Niagara Falls. Following the Award Ceremony, our students had a chance to visit all the Ivy League Colleges and significant locations including the White House, Central Park and NASA during their 9 days trip.
The school officials welcomed participating students following their return to home. During the meeting, students expressed their feelings about the Olympiad and trips.
